About Us
I am Amy Sherman and I am so glad you are here! My husband Steven and I, along with our six children, moved to a small farm in Southwest Missouri in August of 2020. It had not been maintained well for the past several years before we purchased it. So, we have been building it back into a wonderful homestead for our family and a little haven for those that God brings along the way.
We have three sons Carson, Jaxon and Dylan, as well as three daughters Emma, Sophia and Selah. We moved away from our family, friends and our home in Washington State to set out on this adventure of becoming homesteaders, and what an adventure it has been! This journey has brought with it some new incredible friends. We have laughed, cried and laughed again at all of the crazy, beautiful and challenging obstacles that God has brought us through. What a story we have to tell you!
Canning and food preservation has been something we have enjoyed doing as a family since our children were very small. I grew up canning with my mama and so passing those skills down to my children has been a beautiful blessing.
We started processing some of our own meat while we still lived in Washington. But we have taken that role up a notch with harvesting our first cow the first year we moved here. Zero out of ten recommend harvesting a cow as your first large animal. But when God provides what you need last minute, you don't ask many questions. It was a huge learning experience that we both laugh about still. Since then we have learned to process deer, goats, and sheep. We decided to leave cows to the experts for now. At least until we get a tractor.
We enjoy working our little slice of land. But we also love being outdoors swimming at our local rivers and lakes, as well as hiking, fishing and exploring all that we can.
We look forward to getting to know you all! Thanks for stopping by! Blessings, Amy, Steven, Carson, Emma, Sophia, Selah, Jaxon and Dylan
